Meeting held at
"The TRADING POST" south of Winslow, Jan 25 to
talk with Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame representatives
about upcoming induction of Dick Kinder into the 2012
Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame March 22, 2012
A group of interested friends of Dick
Kinder met at the Trading Post to talk with Ed Siegel and
Jimmy Dimitroff, who were representing the Indiana
Basketball Hall of Fame. Dick Kinder will be
inducted into the Hall at the 2012 Annual Awards Dinner on
March 21, 2012 at the Primo Banquet Hall, 2615 Natiomal Ave,
Indianapolis, IN. Ed Seigel was a member of the
1950 New Albany Bulldogs who defeated the Winslow Eskimos
1950 team at the Bloomington Semi-state in the final game in
1950. Ed later taught and coached in Boonville for a
few years and later at Pike School in
Indianapolis. Jimmy Dimitroff was a well known
basketball official. Those from Winslow area
interested in honoring Dick Kinder were Richard Tisdale,
David Tisdale, Carroll Edrington, Donald L. Nelson, Stan
May, Kyle Kinder, Roger Griffith and John Dedman.
Kyle Kinder, son of Dick Kinder and Kyle's mother, Marilyn
Kinder also attended. This group of Winslow area
people are sponsoring a full-page advertisement in the
Indiana Basketball Hall of Fame 2012 Annual Awards Dinner
booklet. If anyone else is interested in sponsoring an
ad in the program, they should contact this website and
information will be sent to you. Ads range from full
page, half-page, quarter-page, to sponsor page and ads start
at $35 and up the full page ad at $200.

2005, the EVV Area WHS
Luncheon group will meet at
a new location which will be
The
Carousel Restaurant, located
at 5115 Monroe Ave,
Evansville, In.
The Carousel is an east side
family restaurant just east
on Monroe Ave off of S.
Green River Rd and is south
of Washington Square
Mall. It is also
located behind Arc
Lanes. It serves
a complete menu of meals and
sandwiches with reasonably
priced meals and ample
parking. Remember to
tell your friends and alumni
of the new location and we
will meet at 12:00 Noon CST.

WHS Alumni should find interesting. The
sites were created by Winslow resident, Rose Beyke.
She is interested in promoting the history of Winslow
and what is happening today. The Indiana
Story Tellers Blog is the

has some interesting LINKS to enjoy. One of

The Winslow Eskimos from Winslow High School,
Winslow, Indiana have been around since 1911 and were in existence
until end of school year 1974. Beginning school year 1975 Winslow was
consolidated along with all the other high schools in Pike County, Indiana into
Pike Central High School. Pike Central is located 4 miles
north of Winslow, Indiana. Many former Winslow Eskimo
children, grand-children, etc now attend Pike Central. There
also is a Winslow Elementary School still in Winslow and a feeder school
for Pike Central. |
