Pictured above are photos contributed by Kent Whitehead, retired Los Angeles
Times Photographer. Kent has relation and ties from Winslow area and
provided these excellent photos of the fire destruction that wiped out the west
side of Winslow, Indiana's Main Street. Since these photos
were taken, the burned out buildings have been leveled and all that remains is
the Winslow City Hall and part of the Snyder Department store that was on the
south end of their business. Marvin Snyder donated his
remaining building to the City of Winslow in hope that some use could be made of
it in the future.
