After a number of breakfast meetings at
Leighty's Trading Post south of Winslow, many contacts and with Pauline
Aydelott spending many hours planning and Jean Meyer presiding over the
meetings, the Arthur grade school reunion was a reality. The
former students of the Arthur Grade School met at Brian's Restaurant in
Petersburg on Saturday, Sept 30, 1995 for its first school reunion at 5
p.m. for a social hour and dinner. The tables were decorated
with balloons and candy.
Jean Meyer welcomed all present. The invocation was
given by Bob Drew. After the dinner, Conrad Stinson gave a brief
history of the Arthur community as to former businesses, families that
lived there and some amusing things that happened to townsfolk and
businesses. The last classes held at the school was in 1952, after
that everyone was bused to Winslow Grade School. Eleven door
prizes were awarded.
