Lee Lemoine C. Barr, 79, of
Hopkinsville, KY, died Sunday, October 05, 2008 at his residence.
Born December 19, 1928 in Newburgh, he
was the son of Russell Jennings and Frances Louise Curtis
Barr.
He was a graduate of Winslow High School
Class of 1946. He served in the U.S. Marine Corps. He
was a graduate of Evansville College and worked as a high school teacher
in Crossville, IL, as well as Reitz High School in Evansville. He
also worked in sales.
In 1974, he joined the management team
at Faultless Hardware in Hopkinsville, KY where he retired in 1990 after
30 years. He then worked at Pennyroyal Center in Princeton, KY until
1994.
He was a member of the First
Presbyterian Church where he was a deacon.
Survivors include his wife Mary Jane
Ellis Barr of Hopkinsville, KY; a brother, Ned Eugene Barr of
Bargersville, IN; a sister, Jeannine Barr Potter of Stendal, IN; two
grand-children and three great-grand-children.
He was preceded in death by his parents,
sons, Brett Patrick Barr in 2004, Todd Michael Barr in 2006; daughter,
Mary Lee Jones in 1993, and brother, Stanley Ray Barr.
Memorial services were at 11 a.m.
Thursday, October 09, 2008 at Maddux-Fuqua-Hinton Funeral Home with Dr.
Anthony Barta officiating.
Visitation was from 5-7:30 p.m.
Wednesday, October 08, 2008 at the funeral home. His remains will be
cremated.
