Construction of Winslow Gym
New Home for the Eskimos
- Winslow's new $115,000 gym nears completion and will be
ready in plenty of time for next seasons games. Snow and bad weather
intervened this past year. The school's cagers got their nickname of
"Eskimos" years ago from playing their games in a poorly heated gym,
in which they still practice. They play a few home game at the Oakland
City College Gym, eight miles away. The new gym will seat 1800, also will
include a cafeteria and classrooms in the basement.
