PRINCETON — Gene G. Corn, 83, of Mt. Olympus,
Ind., died Wednesday, March 9, 2005, at Gibson General Hospital.
He was born in Winslow, Ind., and
was a WWII veteran, serving with the 444th Troop Carrier Squadron in
the U.S. Army Air Corp as a corporal. He retired as an inspector
with the Indiana Department of Highways.
Preceding him in death was a sister,
Thelda Smith. He is survived by his wife of 37 years,
Virginia; daughter, Dixie De Cooper, Bloomington, Ind.; stepsons,
Jon Seifers, Mt. Olympus, Ind., and Jim Seifers, Princeton, Ind.;
grandchildren, Brad Seifers, Mt. Olympus, Ind., Brian Seifers,
Princeton, Ind., Scott Seifers, Evansville, Ind., Debbie Ortiz,
Santa Claus, Ind., and David Brewster, Evansville, Ind.;
great-grandchildren, Rachel Seifers, Zachary and Gage Ortiz and
Danielle and Allyssa McCrary; and niece and her husband, Sharon and
Elmer Harvey, Lynnville, Ind.
Graveside services were held at
2:30 p.m. C.S.T on Sunday, March 13, 2005, at Mt. Olive Cemetery in
Mt. Olympus, Ind., with the Rev. Paul Huntsman officiating, and
military rites being conducted by the Princeton VFW Post 1147. In
lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Mt. Olive
Cemetery Fund, P.O. Box 198, Hazleton, Ind.47640. Doyle Funeral Home
