Clayton E. Curtis, 80, of Winslow, Ind., died Sunday,
March 6, 2005, at his home.
He served 42 years in the postal service and was postmaster for the
Winslow office for many years. He was a World War II veteran, having
served in the Navy in the South Pacific. He was an avid sportsman and
outdoorsman. Clayton attended the Winslow Christian Church and was active
in the local Kiwanis Club.
Clayton is survived by his wife of 57 years, Marcia Curtis of
Winslow; one daughter, Karen Fulk and her husband, Joe of Riley, Indiana;
one son, Stuart Curtis and wife, Jane of Santa Claus, Ind.; one brother
Kenneth Curtis and his wife, Mary Martha of Winslow; five grandchildren;
and two great-grandchildren.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Paul and Leo Curtis of
Winslow.
Visitation was Tuesday, March 8, from 4 to 8 p.m. EST at the Curtis
Funeral Home in Winslow. Funeral services were held Wednesday, March 9,
at 10 a.m. EST at the Curtis Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, memorial
contributions may be made to the Winslow Christian Church, 501 Walnut St.,
Winslow, IN 47598. |
