Marion Elizabeth Dillon Smith, 83, of
Vincennes, formerly of Winslow, Ind., died at 4:10 a.m. Wednesday, April
2, 2008 at her residence.
She was born in Winslow, February 18,
1925, the daughter of Frank and Loral (Ridge) Dillon. Marion was a
graduate of Winslow High School - Class of 1943. She married
James Smith, September 11, 1943 and he preceded her in death June 1, 2000.
She had worked at Republic Aviation in
Evansville during World War II and was of the Christian faith.
Preceding her in death besides her
parents and husband were a great-grandson, Cole Newman, a brother, Gene
Dillon, and a sister Imogene Borchelt.
Surviving are a son, Kent (Cheryl)
Smith; two daughters, Denise (Tom) Newman and Linnette (Jerry) Mooney all
of Vincennes; seven grandchildren, two step-grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren; and two stepgreat-grandshildren.
Graveside service was conducted at 11
a.m. Saturday, April 05, 2008 in Memorial Park Cemetery, Vincennes.
Gardner-Brockman Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
