Rufus E. Edrington
OAKLAND CITY — Mr. Rufus E. Edrington, 76, passed away Wednesday, May
17, 2006, at the Specialty Select Hospital in Evansville.
He was born near Winslow, Ind., to Iva Edrington and Cordia (Brewster)
Edrington on May 18, 1929. He was a Korean War Army veteran. He retired
from Hansen Manufacturing in Princeton, Ind., as a General Foreman. He was
a member of the McCullough Grove General Baptist Church and the Oakland
City American Legion Post 256.
He is survived by his wife, Doris (Bruce) Edrington; two sons; Mark
Edrington of Huntingburg, Ind., and Rusty Edrington of Oakland City;
brother, Charles Edrington of Oakland City; six grandchildren, Ryan,
Russell, Brittany, Jeremy, Derek, and Amber; five great-grandchildren,
Allison, Mathew, Elizabeth, Tyler and Cody. Also surviving are special
extended family; Aaron Reynolds, Tyler Richeson, and Christy Lewis.
He was preceded in death by one grandson, Jason Edrington, in 1998 and
his parents.
Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Saturday at the Corn-Colvin Funeral
Home in Oakland City with burial in the Montgomery Cemetery. American
Legion Post 256 will provide military honors. Friends may call from 4
until 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. until service time Saturday at the
Corn-Colvin Funeral Home.
