| PEGGY
A. GANT, of Deerfield Beach, Fla., died peacefully Sunday, Sept.
3, 2006, 2:30 p.m., in Illinois, surrounded by her family after a
courageous battle with lung cancer.
Born May 2, 1939, in Winslow, Ind. She was a daughter of the late
Gwendolyn and Ernest Stevens. A Winslow High School Alumni
from the Class of 1957. She was a nurse and practiced surgical
nursing in Indianapolis, for several years until moving to Fort
Wayne, IN with former husband, Don, where she lived for 22 years.
She practiced nursing in the office of Fort Wayne OBGYN in the mid
1970's.
She loved golf and was a member of Orchard Ridge County Club,
where she played golf for many years. Deerfield Beach, Fla. had been
her residence for the last eight years, where she continued golfing
until her illness began less than a year ago.
Surviving are her brother, Bill Stevens of St. Louis, Mo.; son,
Lance (Kelly) Gant of Argyle, Texas; daughter, Jennifer (Phil)
Bouchard of Frankfort, Ill.; and four grandchildren, Caitlin and
Hannah Martin, and Zachary and Allison Gant. Private memorial
service was held at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 9, 2006 at Sheehy & Sons
Funeral Home, 9000 West 151st St., Orland Park, Ill. Memorials to
American Cancer Society.
