Isabel Spillman Brady, 86,
Indianapolis, passed away January 29, 2007 at her home. She was
born May 7, 1920 in Winslow, IN, the daughter of Edward and Hazel
(Comer) Spillman. She was a graduate of Winslow High School, the
Class of 1937 and attended Indiana University where she met her husband,
James T. Brady. They were married July 3, 1942.
Isabel was a member of St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, Women's Club and
Alter Society. She was an active Girl Scout and Boy Scout
volunteer. She studied dietetics, was a great cook, dancer and a
lover of music and her dogs. "Dr. Mom" loved to talk,
with a great sense of humor (in spite of lifelong illness).
A devoted wife and mother, she is survived by her
husband, Jim, sons Mark (Marsha) and William (Jeanne); daughters, Lisa
Mary Beth, and Julie (William) Dornfeld; and grandchildren, Laura,
Geoffrey and Emily Brady, Erin (Ronald) Hartman Shelnutt, and
Christopher Quackenbush. She was preceded in death by her parents
and eldest son, Michael.
Visitation will be Friday, February 2, 2007 from
4-8 p.m. in Moore & Kirk Funeral Home, Irvington Chapel, 5342B
Washington St, with a recitation of the Rosary at 7:30 p.m.
Additional visitation will be Saturday February 3 from 11 a.m. - 12:15
p.m. Prayers will be at 12:15 p.m. followed by Mass of Christian
Burial at 1 p.m. in St. Joan of Arc Catholic Church, with Fr. Guy
Roberts presiding. Burial will be at Crown Hill
Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to
St. Joan of Arc Cahtolic Church. Envelopes will be available at
the funeral home.
