Betty Marie Krukemeier, 85, passed away on Tuesday. March 21, 2006.
Betty was born in Jasonville, IN on April 21, 1920 to parents Clarence R.
and Winona Bratton, who preceded her in death.
After graduating from Winslow High School she moved to Indianapolis where
she worked at various jobs before co-owning and operating her own
restaurant called the Dutch Mill. She wed James Earl
Krukemeier on June 6, 1942. They were married 61 years.
Together they resided in Beech Grove and the southside of Indianapolis
where she helped her husband in his electrical business, Krukemeier
Electric Company. Betty also worked for 23 years as a
nurses aid in the pediatric department and was a unit secretary in
intensive carecoronary care at St. Francis Hospital in Beech Grove,
retiring in 1982. She was a member of the Business and
Professional Women ‘s organization in Beech Grove and the Women's
auxiliary at the Glenns Valley Conservation Club.
Husband, James, preceded her in death. Survivors include three
daughters, Karen Sigler (Bill), Diane Craig (Rich) of Indianapolis and
Janet Green (Steve) of Martinsville; six grandchildren; two
great-grandchildren and a third due in April; and one sister, Anna Belle
Benjamin.
Visitation was held at Little & Sons Funeral Home, Beech Grove
Chapel, on Friday, March 24 from 4:00-8:00 p.m. and Saturday, March 25
from 10:00-10:30a.m. Funeral Mass was at St. Jude Catholic
Church on McFarland Rd. at 11:00 am. She will be entombed at Calvary
Cemetery. |
