page from the past.....General Store - Muren,
Ind. Abt 1918 to 1924
| Pictured above is a picture of the old General Store in
Muren, Ind., and in its time a hot spot in the coal mining industry with
Ingle family's big mine and several smaller "bank" mines
operating in the area. This picture was taken somewhere in the
period of 1918 to 1924. The man in the middle with the white shirt
is William R. Berlin. Note the method of travel in those
days. Picture submitted by Bill Berlin. Several kids and
great grandkids through the years came to Winslow High School from that
community.
