Princeton, Ind. -- Joyce A. (Wilder) Newton, 79, died
January 15, 2008, at the Gibson General Hospital Skilled Nursing Facility.
Joyce was a graduate of Winslow High School, Class of
1946.
She was a retired bookkeeper/manager at the Princeton
Country Club for 19 years and later at the VFW in Princeton.
She was a past president of the VFW Post 1147 Ladies Auxiliary, member of
American Legion Post 25 Auxiliary, Eagles, and the Red Hat Club. She
was a member of the General Hosptial Fifth Floor Residents Council.
Joyce was born August 31, 1928 in Evansville, Ind. to
B.C. and Vada (Abshire) Wilder. They preceded her in death.
She was also preceded in death by her husband, Eugene Newton in 1986;
grandson Gregory Newton; two brothers, Joe and Danny Wilder; and three
sisers, Hazel Pickerill, Ora Wilder, and Virginia Cavins.
She is survived by her two daughters and son-in-law,
Donna Greene of Oakland City and Gina and Jeff Kendle of Princeton; son
and daughter-in-law, Neal and Betty Newton of Washington; four
grandchildren, Shelby Sisk and Jeremy Newton of Oakland City, Amanda
(Luke) Smith of Clarksville, Tenn, and Zach Kendle of Princeton; three
great grandchildren; and a sister Mary Lou Nelson of Evansville.
Services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, January 19, 2008
at Colvin Funeral Home,Princeton, Ind., burial in Maple Hill Cemetery. Visitation is
5 to 9 p.m. Friday, January 18, 2008. Memorials may be made to
Gibson General Hosptial Silled Nursing Facility.
