Winslow, Ind. - Emma M. Sharp,
71, formerly of Winslow, In., passed away Saturday, July 18, 2009, at her
residence in Red Bud, Il. Emma was born to the late Alfred Temple
and Viola (Oxby) Brewster on October 31, 1937, at Milltown,
In. She was a
graduate of Winslow High School, Class of 1955. She married Hershel
L. Sharp on September 30, 1955, at Winslow, Ind.; he survives. She
worked at Synder General for 23 years and JC Penny at the South County
Mall, St. Louis, MO for 7 years until her retirement. She was of
Protestant faith. Survivors
are her husband, Hershel L. Sharp of Red Bud, Ill.; a daughter, Tracy
Sharp of Waterloo, Ill.; grandson, Alex Schmidt of Waterloo, Il; sisters,
Betty Snow of Indianapolis, In. and Jo Ann Radcliff of Petersburg, In.;
half-sisters, Melinda Early of Ogden, Utah, and Leah Droshears of Dale,
In., sister-in-law, Jo Ann Brewster of Orange City, Fl.; and special
friends, Don and Audrey DuFrenne of Red Bud, Il. She
was preceded in death by her parents and one brother, Charles Brewster. Funeral
services will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, July 22, 2009 at the Curtis Funeral
Home in Winslow, with the Rev. James Niece. Burial will be in the
Spurgeon Cemetery in Spurgeon, In. Visitations
will be today, July 20, 2009, from 4 to 8 p.m. at the Wege-Pechacek
Funeral Home in Red Bud, Il., and Tuesday, July 21, 2009 from 4 to 8 p.m.
at the Curtis Funeral Home in Winslow, In. |
