Richard Ervin Bechtel, 87, of 114
McMurty Avenue, Hartford, Kentucky, died Friday, Feb 5, 2010 at Ohio
County Hospital in Hartford, Kentucky. He was born August 11, 1922,
in Petersburg, Indiana, to the late Lee Roy Bechtel and Alma A. Zigler
Bechtel. He was a graduate of
Winslow High School, Class of 1942. He was a sales representative
for Whitmore Manufacturing Co., in Rockall, Texas, and a member of
Hartford Christian Church. He was a Past Master of Hartford Masonic
Lodge No. 675 in Hartford, Kentucky and an Army veteran of World War
II. He was preceded in death by his parents and two brothers,
Orville Bechtel and Harold Bechtel. Survivors
include his wife, Doris Jean Arnold Bechtel of Hartford, a son, James
Richard Bechtel and wife, Kaye of Marion, Illinois; two daughters, Phyllis
Jackson of Brownsburg, Indiana and Sheila Barnard and husband, James of
Beaver Dam, Kentucky; nine grandchildren and 16 great-grandchldren. Visitation
and services were at Miller-Schapmire Funeral Home in Hartford, with
Brother Terry Peer officiating. Burial was in Oakwood Cemetery in
Hartford, Kentucky. |
