Jessie Ruth Miller Boyd, 80, of Petersburg, IN, entered rest on
Sunday, January 16, 2011 at 1:28 AM at Good Samaritan Nursing Home.
She was born on May 21, 1930 in Pike County to Joseph and Bernice
(Loveless) Miller.
She was a graduate of Winslow High School Class of 1948. She
was a member of Oakland City Church of The Nazarene, also a homemaker and
loved family gatherings, gardening and had a great love for animals.
Also was preceded in death by husband Edwin O. Boyd in May 1993 and
son Stevie Boyd in 1960.
Surviving family members: Marie Boyd, Cindy (Lex) Shelby, Rick
(Jenny) Boyd, Mike (Laura) Boyd, Jeff "Bub" (Linda) Boyd, Ruth
Ann Melhiser, Danny (Amanda) Boyd of Winslow, IN and Eddie Joe (Robin)
Boyd, Chris (Leslie) Boyd of Petersburg, IN and Jenny (Terry)
"Tater" Knepp of Montgomery, IN and Brother: Dallas Miller of
Oakland City, IN. Grandchildren: E.J. Justin, Adam, Jeremy, Teia,
Jason, Joshua, Lindsey, Logan, Gavin, Garrett, Griffin, Grant, Madelynn,
and Cyrus Boyd. Michelle Yater, Deb McCrary, Jessie Hildenbrand,
Sarah Thomas, Stella, Luke, and Mark Melhiser and Austin Knep. Also
23 great grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 10:00 AM CST Wednesday, January 19, 2011
at Oakland City Church of the Nazarene with Rev. Darin D. Nossett
officiating, burial in Montgomery Cemetery. Visitation was from 4 -8
PM Tuesday, January 18, 2010 at Oakland City Church of The Nazarene and
from 8:30AM until services Wednesday at the church.
