Helen Marie Gray Brewster, of
Carmel, passed away peacefully on April 29, 2010 at the age of
85. She was born December 18, 1924 in Winslow, Indiana, to
Lula and Virgil Gray. She was a graduate of Winslow High
School, Class of 1942. She
moved to Indianapolis, Indiana following high school, and graduated from
Indiana Business College, and worked for General Mills. In 1946, she
married her hometown honey, James "Ben" Brewster. They
made Indianapolis their home. Helen
and Ben retired to Lake Placid, Florida, in 1973, where they lived until
1998 when they returned to Indiana to be near their daughter and
son-in-law. Helen had resided at Sunrise of Carmel, Indiana since
2005. Helen was a devoted
wife, mother, homemaker and friend. She was a member of Easter Star
and Tri Kappa. She was
preceded in death by her parents, her husband, Ben and son,
Scott. Helen is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Ann
and Phil Eskew; grandchildren, Kelly, Phil (Noriko) and Kevin (Deb) Eskew,
Jessica and Alex Brewster, and great grandchildren, Kamryn and Jack Henry
Eskew. The family would like
to thank Dr. Pat Healey and all the staff at Sunrise, (Clare Bridge) of
Carmel for all the love, excellent care, and support they have given Helen
and Ann during the past five years. In
lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Helen's favorite charity,
TheraPets of Indiana, Inc., 10454 Alderwood Court, Fishers, IN 46038. Services
were Tuesday, May 4, 2010 at Flanner & Buchanan of Camel, Indiana,
with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. and a memorial service at 1:00
