| Richard "Dewey" Allen Fettinger, who was born
on September 5, 1938, was called home by God on December 02, 2009. A
tribute to his life is planned for 4 p.m. Sunday, Dec 13, 2009, at
Davenport's Chapel of the Good Shepherd.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Marion and Mildred
Fettinger and his brother, George Fettinger.
Richard was born the youngest of three boys in Winslow, Indiana.
After graduation from Winslow High School, Class of 1956, he joined
the U.S. Air Force and served his country proudly for 20 years.
During this time, he married Diann Hawkins. After 20 years of
marriage, they parted as dear friends and remained extremely close.
Later, Richard met and married Mary Ann LaMere. They were still
married at the time of his passing. Richard was committed to
his family, friends and community.
He coached Little League baseball, basketball and football. He
faced life head on and enjoyed every minute he spent with family and
friends. He was a car salesman and owned many dealerships throughout
the years. Dewey will be remembered for his love of poker and
for his years of stock car racing at Klamath Speedway.
Richard is survived by his loving family, his wife Mary Ann
Fettinger, sons and daughters-in-law, James and Marci Fettinger, Timothy
and Pamela Fettinger, John and PJ Fettinger, and George and Heidii
Fettinger; daughter and son-in-law, Melinda and Matthew Brunsdon;
grandchildren James, Christina, Emily, Zachary, bailey, Charles, Jessica
and Caitlin Fettinger and Brendan, Jonathan and Griffin Brunsdon; brother,
Jay Fettinger; and numerous cousins, nephews, nieces; great-grandchildren
and step-children.
In lieu of flowers, the family request all donations be sent to
Davenport's Chapel of the Good Shepherd.
