| Nancy Lee (Ambrose) Harris, 79, of
McKinney, TX, passed away May 06, 2009 in McKinney.
Nancy was born November 29, 1929 in Arthur, Indiana,
to Lee and Etta (Coleman) Ambrose. She graduated from Winslow High
School, Class of 1947 and graduated from the University of Evansville on a
scholarship where she was a charter member of the frehman Women's Honorary
Society.
She received her B.A. degree in Languages from
Indiana State University and taught school in Terry Haute, IN, Wilmington,
IL and at Mesquite ISD and Richardson ISD of Texas.
She truly enjoyed living in the country on the lake
near Bailey, TX, gardening, reading, and watching the Cowboys and the
Mavericks. Her greatest joy was being with her family, especially
her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is survived by her three children, William
Bright, James and his wife, Cindy Bright, and Donna Patrice Harris Price;
six grandchildren, Eden Rivera, Sara Vickers, P.J. Addie, Megan Addie,
James Robert Bright, and Stone Harris Price; three great-grandchildren,
Samantha Rivera, Brenda Rivera and Drake Vickers, and a sister, Pat
Norrick of Cincinnati, Ohio.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her
husband, Jack Ward Harris, and a daughter, Susan Bright Wilder Addie.
A memorial service was conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday,
May 9, 2009 at the Frist Presbyterian Church in McKinney, Texas with Rev.
Dr. John Blacklock officiating. Interment at Leonard Cemetery will
take place at a later date.
