| Dick Kinder, 76, formerly of Winslow, Indiana, died
March 11, 2010 at his home.
Dick was born July 24, 1933 in Winslow, Indiana. He was a graduate of Winslow High School, Class of 1951.
He was a member of the Winslow Eskimos teams in 1950 and 1951 that won
back to back sectional and regional IHSAA basketball tourneys. Dick
attended Memphis State and Murray State College and played basketball for
the American Generals who were the team that played against the Harlem
Globe Trotters. He was a retired school teacher and an
Army veteran. He also belonged to the Eagles and American
Legion in Winslow, Indiana.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Mr & Mrs. Edwin & Bee
(Minor) Kinder of Winslow, Indiana.
Surviving are his wife, Marilyn, of Otwell, Indiana; daughter Lana
Richeson, of Murfreesboro, Tenn; son Kyle Kinder of Petersburg;
and one granddaughter, Kayla Kinder; and special friends, Richard and
David Tisdale.
Graveside services were at 1 p.m. Saturday, March 13, 2010 at
Pleasant Ridge cemetery in Pike County. Visitation was 10 a.m. to
12:30 p.m. at Curtis Funeral Home, Winslow, Indiana.
