Kenneth Lindsay, 88, of Evansville, Indiana, passed
away on Friday, July 23, 2010 at VNA Charlier Hospice Center.
He graduated from Winslow High School, Class of 1942, attended
Evansville College and was a Merchant Marine. While attending
Evansville College, Ken was a student manager for Arad McCutchan. He
coached 7th and 8th grade basketball at St. Benedict's Grade School, was a
volunteer assistant coach at Memorial High School, as well as, being an
assistant coach for the semi-pro team Evansville Thunder, and he was a
Kentucky Colonel.
Ken enjoyed computers and developing and maintaining several
websites and was proud of his accomplishments in technology. Many
considered him ahead of his time. Most of all, Ken was proud of his
family and enjoyed spending time with them.
Surviving are his daughters, Mary (Alice) and husband Charlie
Stewart of Spring, Texas; Patricia and husband David Shaw, of
Evansville; sons Mike and wife Julie Lindsay of Bothell, Washington; Kevin
and wife Robina Lindsay of Stanwood, Washington, 11 grandchildren, 15
great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. Kenneth was
preceded in death by his wife Mary Magdalene; parents Benjamin and Nellie
(Green) Lindsay; grandsons Shawn Lindsay and Matthew Lindsay; sisters,
Olive Cooper, Helen Nichols Richardson; and brothers, Robert Lindsay and
William Lindsay.
Visitation will be held on Friday, July 30, 2010, 2 to 8 p.m. at
Ziemer Funeral Home East Chapel, 800 S. Hebron Ave., Evansville, Indiana,
where a memorial service will begin at 7 p.m. Mass will
be held Saturday, July 31, 2010 at St. Benedicts at 9 a.a.
