Winslow, Ind. - Kathleen McCandless, 87, of Winslow, Indiana, went
to be with her Lord Wednesday, June 3, 2009 at her residence. Kathleen
was born December 5, 1921 in Pike County, Indiana to Otho P. and Valentine
Conder Amos. She was a graduate of Winslow High School, Class of
1940. She was married in 1940 in Owensboro, Kentucky, to Lawrence
Pud McCandless who preceded her in death May 2, 1985.
Kathleen retired from the Good Samaritan Nursing Home in Oakland
City. She attended the Full Gospel Church in Oakland City. She
is survived by 4 daughters, Lanora Sue (Benny) Kelley of Winslow, Janet
Fithian of Winslow, Faye (Ernie) Johns of Winslow and Judy (Hubert)
Loveless of Oakland City, 2 sons, Lawrence Buster (Trea) McCandless of
Winslow and Larry (Brenda) McCandless of Evansville, 13 grandchildren,
several great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. She
was preceded in death by her parents, husband, sister, Lucille Donham,
brother, Denzil Amos, and three grandchildren. Funeral services
will be 2 p.m. Saturday, June 6, at the Winslow Christian Church, 501 N.
Walnut Street, Winslow, Ind. Burial is in the Pleasant Ridge
Cemetery in Pike County. Visitation will be 2 to 8 p.m. Friday, June
5, at the Winslow Christian Church. The Curtis Funeral in Winslow is
in charge of arrangements. |
