| Albany, Georgia - Reverend William Ervin McCord,
91, of Albany, GA, went home to be with his Lord on Friday, November 20,
2009.
Funeral services honoring the life of Reverend McCord conducted
November 22 at 3:00 p.m. in the chapel of Hall and Hall Funeral Home with
Reverend Lynn Hurley officiating. Graveside services were on
Tuesday, November 24, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. at the graveside of Blue Grass
Memorial Gardens in Lexington, KY.
Born January 7, 1918 in Winslow, IN, Reverend McCord was the son of
the late Fred McCord and Anna Elizabeth Barrett McCord. He was a
retired Methodist Minister, having served for forty years in the
Church. Reverend McCord enjoyed working in the Mission Field,
walking and listening to gospel music. He will be greatly missed by
his entire family and his brothers and sisters in the Lord. he will
be remembered as a kind-hearted man of God who lived his life to serve the
Lord and others.
Survivors include his loving wife of sixty-five years, Thelma
Bottoms McCord of Albany, GA.; sons; George Robert McCord and
his wife Mary Jane of Richmond, VA; William Eugene McCord of Brunswick,
GA; brothers, Gola Pearl McCord of Washington, IN and Virgil O.
McCord of Canton, GA; sister Clova Marie Dobbyn of Washington, IN;
grandchildren, Marvin McCord and his wife Carolyn and Christie and her
husband Noel; great grand-children, Christopher, Rachael and Kruz.
The family received friends one hour before the service at the Hall
and Hall Funeral Home.
