Clifton Ray Morton, 76, of Winslow, IN, entered rest on
Monday, April 04, 2011 at 7:15 a.m. at his home. He was born September
16, 1934 in Pike County, IN to Donald and Minnie (Wininger) Morton. He
attended school at Winslow High School. Clifton was a Army veteran
during the Korean Conflict and was a retired coal miner after 26 years
service at Old Ben Coal Co. He was also a member of U.M.W.A. Local
#5179. Surviving are his wife of 25 years,
Helen (Russell) Morton of Winslow; daughters, Teresa Riech of Princeton, IN,
Suzi (Bryan) Robinson of Indianapolis, IN, and Angie Owens of Winslow; sons,
Roger Morton of Lake Worth, FL, Larry (Becky) Morton of Winslow, Randy
Morton of Oakland City, IN, and Tim Morton of Nashville, Tn; brothers, Gene
Morton of Beatyville, KY and Dennis Morton of Winslow; a sister, Anna Lee
Ennis of Winslow; grandchildren, Logan, Heath, Alex, Lauren, Keevon, Jaylon,
Jamie, Erin, Wyatt, Cassie, Sara, Conner, Collin and Cooper; and great
grandchildren, Chase, Lexi and Isaac. He was
preceded in death by his parents; brothers, Harold and Wendel Morton; and
sister, Donna Mae Morton. Funeral services
were Thursday, April 7, 2011 at 11 a.m. EDT at Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel
in Oakland City with Rev. Tom Deen officiating. Burial was in Pleasant
Ridge Cemetery, Campbelltown. Visitation was
from 4-8 p.m. EDT Wednesday, April 6, 2011 and from 9 a.m. until service
time on Thursday at the funeral home. Family
