Thomas Austin Nordhorn, 73, of Peachtree City, Georgia, passed away on
Wednesday, February 3, 2010 at the Piedmont Hospital located in Atlanta,
Georgia.
Tom was born November 26, 1936, in Petersburg, Indiana, to William and
Dorothy Belle (Jackson) Nordhorn. He graduated from Winslow High
School, Class of 1954 and served in the United States Air Force for four
years. Tom attended Oakland City University (Bachelors of
Science in Math and Physics 1961) and Union College (Masters Degree in Math
and Physics 1971). Tom retired from the Warrick County School
Corporation after 30 years as a high school math teacher. He
also was owner of Town and Country Pools in Newburgh, IN for 28
years. He was a member of Epworth United Methodist Church and
the Winslow Christian Church.
Tom gave in death as he gave in life. He was an organ donor.
He is survived by his wife of 38 years, Delta (Corn) Nordhorn of
Peachtree City, GA; two daughters, Delta Ann York (David) of Smyrna, TN and
Sarah Ericksen (Kirk) of Peachtree City, Ga.; two grandchildren, Audrey and
Isaac Ericksen of Peachtree City, GA.
He was preceded in death by his father and mother, William and Dorothy
Belle Nordhorn, sister and brother-in-law, Stanley and Donna Rae Cook, and
his brother, Robert Nordhorn.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2010,
at Doyle Funeral Home in Princeton, IN
Friends called from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, February 12, 2010 and from
10-11 a.m. Saturday, February 13, 2010 at Doyle Funeral Home.
