| Nathan Gilbert Roe, 79, of Winslow, Indiana, entered
rest on Thursday, April 22, 2010 at 8:33 a.m. at V.N.A. Charlier Hospice
Care in Evansville, Indiana.
He was born on January 1, 1931, in Pike County, Indiana, to Gilbert
and Virginia (Harper) Roe.
He was a graduate of Winslow High School, Class of 1950.
He retired after 20 years in the Army, serving during the Korean Conflict
and Vietnam, life member of V.F.W. Post #3507, life member D.A.V. in
Jasper, Indiana, American Legion Post #115, Winslow, Indiana, and Oakland
City Eagles and a member of the Arthur General Baptist Church.
He owned and operated Roe Refrigeration and had owned the Cozy Cove
Restaurant in Oakland City, Indiana.
Surviving family; 2 sons, David E. Roe of Morganfield, Ky., Stephen
M. Roe of Naples, Fla., 2 daughters, Diane Hanes of Evansville, In., and
Natalie L. Swaney of Cape Coral, Fla., (10) grandchildren, (9)
great-grandchildren.
Funeral services were at 3 p.m. CDT Saturday, April 24, 2010, at
Lamb-Basham Memorial Chapel in Oakland City, Indiana, with burial in
Pleasant Ridge Cemetery in Winslow, Indiana with Rev. Jordan Roe
officiating.
Visitation was from 1 p.m. until services on Saturday, April 24,
2010. Memorial Contribution maybe given V.N.A. Charlier
Hospice. Envelopes will be available at the chapel. Family and
