Oakland City, Ind. -- Dorothy Irene Tooley, 78, of Oakland City, Ind.,
entered rest on Monday, October 12, 2009 at 3:15 p.m. at her son's home in
Winslow, Ind.
She was born November 5, 1930, in Pike County, Ind., to Otis and Ada (Robling)
Brown. She was preceded in death by parents and husband, Redmond, a
daughter Mary Truelove, brothers, Everett Brown, Paul Brown and sister,
Shirley Nelson.
Dorothy was a graduate of Winslow High School in 1949, bus driver for
Headstart for many years and was a past member of Oakland City American
Legion Auxiliary and Women of Eagles in Winslow, Ind.
Surviving family members are Jessie Bise of Evansville, Ind.;
Elizabeth Ward and Brian Tooley of Jasper, Ind; Otis Tooley of Oakland City,
Ind.; Benny Tooley of Otwell, Ind.; Billy Tooley of Winslow, Ind.; 23
grand-children; 17 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-grandchild; sisters,
Juanita Cooper of Tell City, Ind., Maxine Greene of California, Joan Sharp
of Winslow, Ind., Alice Fowler of Petersburg, Ind., Wanda Williams of
Oakland City, Ind., and Nina Vaughn of Warrenburg, Ill.
Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Oct 16, 2009 at Lamb Basham
Memorial Chapel, with burial in Augusa Cemetery in Augusa, Ind. The
Rev Pat McCandless officiating. Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m.
Thursday and from 8 a.m. until sevices on Friday at the chapel.
The family would like to thank Memorial Hospital, Dr. Mary Burgeson
and Affinity Hospice care for all their compassionate care of Mom.
