Rosemary Weisheit, 81, passed away Sunday, March 20,
2011 at River Oaks Health Campus in Princeton. She was born January 15,
1930 in Winslow, Indiana to Fred and Mary (Hatfield) Brown.
She was a graduate of Winslow High School, Class of
1947. Rosemary had resided in Princeton
since 1947, moving from Evansville and was retired from the Gibson County
Treasurer’s Office. She and her husband were founding members of Our
Saviour Lutheran Church in Princeton.
Dad, the love of our Mother’s life, took her as his
bride on November 29, 1947. Together these two good, strong people
remained a loving couple for more than sixty-three years. Mother and Dad
shared their love with the six of us and together they taught us to be
honest, to be willing to work hard to provide for those we loved and when
needed to sacrifice for the good of our loved ones. From them we learned
respect for our elders, to have compassion for others, and to live a
principled life.
Mother made a loving home for Dad and for the six of us. She cooked
countless meals, changed our thousands of diapers and powdered our
bottoms. Mother healed and soothed our scrapes and bruises, nursed our
illnesses, laughed at our stunts and smiled at our silliness. She served
our classmates as their "Room Mother" and welcomed our friends
into our home. Mother worried when we were troubled, was joyful when we
triumphed and took quiet pride in each of us. Mother loved us more
than we truly understood in those busy early years and though we loved her
deeply we were unable to ever repay all her love. And so, because she
loved us and we loved her in return, we will miss our Mother! We are
comforted by our memories of this special lady and by our certainty that
she is at last pain free, at peace and will continue to watch over Dad and
all of her family.
She is survived by her husband, Robert "Bob" Weisheit; children,
Richard "Dick" Weisheit and his wife Teresa of Owensville and
their four children and seven grandchildren, Keith Weisheit and his wife
Lori of Evansville and their four children and eight grandchildren, Kim
Weisheit and his wife Debbie of Campbelltown, Ind. and their four children
and two grandchildren, Debbie McDowell and her husband Don of Spring,
Texas and their two children, Brad Weisheit and his wife Carolyn of
Newburgh and their three children and Scott Weisheit and his wife Denise
of Corona, Calif. and their two children and one grandchild; numerous
nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews and several brothers-in-law
and sisters-in-law.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Fred and Denny
Brown.
Funeral services were at 1 pm Friday, March 25, 2011 at Colvin Funeral
Home in Princeton, with Pastor Karen McNeill-Utecht officiating. Burial was
at Columbia White Church Cemetery in Princeton. Visitation will be from 3
– 8 pm Thursday at Colvin Funeral Home.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to River Oaks
Activity Department. Envelopes will be available at the funeral home.
