Daniel W. Wood, 52, Fishers, Indiana, passed away
Friday, March 6, 2009 at Indiana Heart Hospital in Indianapolis,
Indiana. He was born October 5, 1956 in Washington, Indiana to
Eugene and Eunice (Bass) Wood. Daniel graduated from Winslow High
School, Class of 1974, and had the honor of being the last graduate from
Winslow High School since his last name, Wood, was the last in the class
rooster of 1974, he was the last student to receive a diploma from Winslow
High School. He also graduated from Oakland City College in 1978. He held a
Bachelors of Arts degree in elementary education and taught Junior High
School Social Studies and Language Arts for 2 years at St. Mary's School
in Mt. Carmel, Illinois. He also coached basketball. For the
last 25 years, he had worked for Allstate Insurance Company as a Claims
Adjuster. Daniel loved landscape gardening. He was a very
devoted husband and father and much involved in his children's swimming at
Southeastern Swim Club. He attended Castleton United Methodist
Church. He is survived by his wife, Cynthia Wood,
his son, Tyler Wood, his daughter, Jordyn Wood, all of Fishers, two brothers,
Donald Wood of Petersburg and Alan Wood of Henderson, KY; a sister, Sue
Brewster of Winslow; 17 nieces and nephews and 13 great-nieces and
nephews. He was preceded in
death by his parents. Services were held at 11:00 a.m. on
Tuesday, March 10, 2009 at Randall & Roberts Fisher Mortuary, with
Rev. Mac Hamon officiating. Visitation was Monday, March 9, 2009
from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Randall & Roberts Fisher Mortuary.
Burial was at Highland Cemetery. |
