She graduated from Winslow High School, Oakland City University, with a B.S. degree and got her masters from Indiana State University. She was a member of the Winslow United Methodist Church, the National Education Association (retired) and the Indiana State Teachers Association (retired).

She loved watching basketball and baseball games but her greatest joy was spending time with her grandchildren and her great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Hilbert Tooley Jr., in 2000; her parents, Claude and Edith (Coleman) Norrick; a daughter, Claudia Kay Tooley; and two brothers, Wayne and John Norrick.

Funeral services were at 10 a.m. EST Saturday, Nov. 4, 2006, at the Corn-Colvin Funeral Home in Oakland City, with the Rev. Larry Platt officiating.  Burial was in Cup Creek Cemetery. Friends called from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday and from 8 a.m. to service time Saturday at the Funeral Home.
