Robert Russell, 78, of
Winslow, IN died Sunday, February 25, 2007 at 7:15 p.m. at his home.
His loving wife and caregiver, Patricia, his children and grandchildren
were at his side.
Robert attended
Winslow High School with the Class of 1946. He worked at Ditney
Hill Coal Mine for 17 years and at Alcoa for 24 years. He was a
member of Muren Church of God. He was a veteran of the U.S.
Army. He was married to Patricia Hill Murray. He was born
July 26, 1928 in Pike County, IN.
He was the son of the
late Arla Russell and Lillian (Fritz) Russell.
He is survived by his
wife, Patricia Russell of Winslow; a stepdaughter, Marsha Murray of
Oakland City; two sons, Robert A. (Tony) Russell of Winslow and Mark
Russell of Sullivan, IN, formerly of Winslow; a stepson, Lt. Col.
Michael D. Murray of Evansville; seven grandchildren; nine
great-grandchildren and five stepgreat grandchildren.
He was preceded in
death by a brother, Kenneth (Boxer) Russell and a sister, Leona Woolsey.
Funeral services were
at 2 p.m. Wednesday, February 28, 2007 at Curtis Funeral Home with Rev
Frank McCandless and Rev. Brad Zoladz officiating. Burial was at
Sunset Cemetery, Winslow, IN with military graveside
services. Visitation was from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday at the
funeral home. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the
Muren Church of God Building Fund.
