Mabel I. (Evans) Thomas, 87, of
Taylor Road, Columbus, Ind. died at 5:17 p.m. Monday, January 14, 2008, at
Four Seasons Retirement Center, Columbus, Ind.
Born in Winslow, Ind on November 13,
1920, Mrs. Thomas was the daughter of Austin C. and Sorvina E. Inman
Evans. She was a graduate of Winslow High School Class of 1940.
She married Forrest D. Thomas on
December 31, 1941 and he preceded her in death January 7, 2006. Mrs.
Thomas was a homemaker. She was also preceded in death by her
parents, four brothers and five sisters.
Survivors include children, Barry
(Paula) Thomas of Bloomington and Mary Helen (Gary L.) McKinney, of
Columbus; grandchildren, Teresa Bay, Tammy Broughton, Shawn McKinney,
Melissa Streeval and Evan Thomas, and great-grandchildren, Andrew and
Chris Bay, Josh and Jake Broughton, Spencer and Haley McKinney, Justin and
Marah Beth Streeval and Madeline Thomas.
The funeral was conducted at 1:30 p.m.
Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Four Seasons Retirement Center Chapel with
the Rev. Norie Erickson officiating. Calling was from 12:30 p.m.
until time of service Thursday at the chapel. Burial was at Garland
Brook Cemetery.
