WINSLOW, IN — Dolores (Griffith) Tisdale, age 73, of Winslow,
Indiana passed away Tuesday, April 24, 2007, at her residence.
She born October 21, 1933, in Pike County, Indiana, to Eugene and
Hazel Traylor Griffith. She graduated from Winslow High School in
1951. She married Jerry W. Stephens December 27, 1951.
He preceded her in death May 29, 1963. She married Richard
Tisdale September 24, 1965. She worked at the Press Dispatch for
several years. She worked at Parkers Drugs in Winslow for 3
years in the late 80s. She worked with her husband Richard at
the Biggs and Tisdale Insurance Agency in Winslow from 1990 to 1996.
She belonged to the Delta Theta Tau Sorority, The Winslow Eastern
Star, UHL Collector Society.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Tisdale of Winslow; one
daughter, Jennifer (Stephens) and husband, Jim Drew, of Winslow; one
son, Van Stephens and wife, Deann, of Winslow; mother, Hazel
Griffith of Winslow; 2 sisters, Janice Mills of Winslow and Rita
Faye Craney of Winslow; four brothers, Frank Wayne Griffith of
Oakland City, Nathan Elwood Griffith of Winslow, Roger Griffith of
Winslow and Richard Griffith of Petersburg; six grandchildren, Laura
(Drew) Woolard of Jasper, Haley (Drew) Greer of Princeton, Amy
(Drew) Stinson of Winslow, Kasey Drew of Winslow, Morgan Stephens of
Winslow. amd Aaron Stephens of Winslow; and three
great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her father, Eugene Griffith, her
first husband, Jerry W. Stephens, daughter, Emily Jean Tisdale, and
a great-grandson.
Arrangements were handled by Curtis Funeral Home, 300 Walnut
St., Winslow, Ind., where the family received friends from 10
a.m. to 8 p.m. Friday, April 27, 2007. An Eastern Star service was
held at 7 p.m. Friday. Funeral services were at Curtis Funeral Home
at 10 a.m. Saturday, April 28, 2007, the Rev. Freddie Brittan
officiating. Interment at Oak Hill Cemetery in Winslow, Ind.
